Structures Building Company has once again been given the honor of GuildMaster with Highest Distinction by our third-party surveying company, GuildQuality!  At the close of each project, using a GuildQuality survey, our homeowners give us feedback on a variety of items including quality of work, schedule, budget, overall satisfaction with Structures and many more.  This is a great resource for our company, and helps us find ways to maintain excellence in customer satisfaction and continue to build the highest quality homes in the Lowcountry.  The GuildMaster distinction is given to custom builders who receive excellent scores on their surveys, and we are thankful that our clients continue to have a remarkable building experience with Structures!

New Neighbors in I'On Village!

I'On Village has a beautiful new addition to the community and a couple of great new neighbors.  We recently completed this DesignBuild project for wonderful out of town clients looking to build their dream home and settle into Lowcountry life.  The unique home, designed by Neal Van Dalen, features incredible custom details throughout and a beautiful outdoor pool space for relaxing and entertaining.  Large porches overlook the charming courtyard and custom pool and cabana-style pool house.  The home has 4 bedrooms, 4 1/2 bathrooms and a suite over the garage complete with a kitchen, bedroom, and balcony sitting area.  One of the bedrooms is especially unique as it is designed as a modern Japanese Tatami room with textured walls and tatami mat flooring.  The tatami room also features a Murphy bed and an en suite bathroom with a teak tub designed to overflow.

Structures on Daniel Island Luxury Home Tour: Saturday, April 30

Bacon & Brew Bash with Charleston Home Builders Association

When we’re not busy building beautiful custom homes, there are few things we enjoy more than a competitive cook-off…especially if it involves BACON!  The Charleston Home Builders Association’s annual themed cook-off gave us the opportunity to gather with other professionals in the industry at Holy City Brewing and show off our culinary skills by incorporating bacon in each dish.  The Bacon & Brew Bash allowed teams to use the tasty treat to create a cocktail, an appetizer or a dessert.  We all then served up our creations at a farmyard themed table!

Structures kept things simple and Southern with a ‘Piggy Pimento Cheese’, whipped up by Production Manager, RP Newton.  It was a hit at the event, and while not winning top honors in the competition, guest foodie judges, Chrissy Kohler and Brandon Baylor of Charleston’s News 2 seemed to really enjoy their sampling.  

Our other entry in the competition was a layered ‘Bacon Bark’ concocted by Structures team member, Jennifer Simpson.  It was rich with chocolate, caramel, marshmallow and a sprinkling of candied bacon.  It was, well...messy.  And while this incredibly tasty treat also did not award our team a trophy, we thoroughly enjoyed sharing it with everyone!  

It was a fun night of bacon-wrapped EVERYTHING, great beer from Holy City Brewery, and spending time with other CHBA members!  

Structures' Deborah Way Named to Professional Builder's 40 Under 40

Structures Design Manager and Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Deborah Way, has been honored with a truly remarkable distinction by being named in Professional Builder’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2016!  Professional Builder is a national magazine and receives nominations for this award from all around the country from those in the building industry.  We cannot think of anyone more deserving of honor than Deb!!  

When announcing the great news to the Structures team, Owner Steve Kendrick wrote:  “We each see what Deb does every day to earn this award and it is so nice to have her recognized at such a high level.  We are all so fortunate to be touched by her passion, professionalism, care, talent, experience, wisdom, and friendship.  And our clients are as well!”

Houzz Features Two Structures Custom Homes!

If you have searched the internet for great home design ideas recently, you have no doubt come across Houzz, an incredible website that allows users to create idea boards to gather favorite photos and find building, architectural, and design professionals.  Here at Structures, we love Houzz and think it’s a great tool for collecting ideas when planning to build your custom dream home!  Another unique feature of the site is a huge vault of “stories” written by professionals in the industry.  These stories give design advice, offer ideas about a particular area of the home, and include photography from Houzz profiles.  Structures has recently been included in two of these stories!

This Structures custom home’s guest bedroom in Daniel Island Park was featured for its clean-lined and modern crown molding and window casing.  The Houzz feature focuses on how simple architectural details can have a huge impact on a home’s design.  (Designed by Cobb Architects)
