Structures is incredibly thankful for the wonderful clients we get to work with each day and for the beautiful homes we're allowed to build for them - and it is especially nice when we have the privilege of working with a family on their SECOND Structure's home!  We recently completed this family's second custom home in Daniel Island Park designed by Flatfish Island Designs.  This lovely home features 4 bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms and a spacious open floor plan.  Check out photos from inside:

Structures Competes in CHBA Chili Cook Off

The Structures team cooked up a big batch of its prize-winning chili to compete in the Charleston Home Builders Association's third annual Chili Cook Off. About a dozen area home builders met at Builders First Source in North Charleston on Thursday, February 21st--each armed with a pot of chili!

Structures came to defend the Grand Champion title it won at last year's Chili Cook Off. Although the team didn't take the prize this year, it was proud to be one vote shy of winning the coveted People's Choice Chili Award.  It was a great evening of friendly competition and good company, and we can't wait to do it again next year!

Obviously, Structures' chili was one of the favorites!

Get Ready for SEWE 2013!

When February comes to the Lowcountry, its time for the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition! SEWE 2013, a three-day celebration of nature featuring over 500 artists and exhibitors from around the world, comes to Charleston  February 15-17.  Wander around downtown Charleston this weekend and you'll see amazing works of art focusing on wildlife and nature--not only paintings but also sculptures, furniture, and duck decoys! At Marion Square, you'll find open-air demonstrations of all kinds, from cooking, to fly fishing, to birds of prey.

But there are two things we love best about SEWE. One is the Dock Dogs competition and retriever expo at Brittlebank Park, and the other is that SEWE is the first of many great festivals that run through the spring in Charleston. It may only be February, but SEWE makes us feel like spring is on its way!

ReStructure on the Islands - Again!

ReStructure can't get enough of island life, and we have been on the beach again - this time renovating the 2nd floor of a Sullivan's Island beach home!  (To check out our recent whole-home renovation on Isle of Palms, click HERE.)

Just a block from the Atlantic Ocean, this charming home needed a more efficient and practical layout.  Our ReStructure team transformed the upstairs area of the home - previously with 1 large bedroom and 1 large (and a bit outdated) bathroom/closet combo - into a lovely 2nd floor space with 2 bedrooms (each with its own closet) and a bright, updated bathroom.  Now this island home boasts 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms - in plenty of time for our homeowner to prepare for all those Summer visitors to Sullivan's Island!

Large Bedroom with Unused Space and No Closet:

Renovated Bedroom with Closet and Re-stained Hardwood Floors:

Entrance to Bathroom/Closet Combo:

We re-worked the Bathroom/Closet Combo into the new 3rd bedroom of the home with its own closet:

We used some of the extra space in the original, large bedroom to turn this outdated bathroom...

into a NEW bathroom with beautiful basket-weave tile flooring, a Bianco Avion marble vanity countertop and a new sleek shower with glass doors and subway tile.
